St. George Orthodox Church and Sultan Restaurant. Clifton, NJ.
The baptism of Selma and Najeeb was a new experience for me. Not speaking arabic, I understood maybe 10% of what everyone was saying, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the symbolic ceremony, not to mention the beautiful church. Friends and family all gathered around to see Selma and Najeeb get woken up from their nap and dunked into water, so you can imagine how happy they were. Nevertheless, it was an awesome ceremony and it was really great to see. The reception was held at the Sultan Restaurant, and Tony Mercho’s Band played some really great music and had the dance floor rocking. I had a ton of fun and can’t wait to shoot more baptisms.
