Iberostar Rose Hall Resort. Montego Bay, Jamaica.
This is one wedding I couldn’t wait to shoot and this is probably my biggest post to date. Photographing in new places really gets my creativity going, especially if it’s in an exotic location like Jamaica. Sonovia and Ian invited myself and my second shooter, Moses, down to the beautiful Iberostar Rose Hall Resort to enjoy the gorgeous weather and shoot their paradise wedding. The first day we were there, Sonovia and Ian got a quick rehearsal in, then it was time for their welcome dinner, which included touching speeches from their family and friends. Then they got surprised by a local fire dancer on the beach which included some PG-13 moments. The next day, it was time for Sonovia and Ian to tie the knot. I started out with Sonovia as she got read in her room and Moses joined the guys while they put on their suits. The first look was held on the amazing balcony in the main hall of the resort with an enormous window view of the palm trees and ocean. The ceremony took place in the middle of the lazy river and then they took the party to one of the amazing restaurants on location. And it was a great party. A ton of fun had by all. And because we were in Jamaica and I had to seize the moment, I made Sonovia and Ian wake up at 5am on the last day so we could get some one of a kind images at sunrise. I also made them jump in the ocean and they did it with minimal complaining. I think it was worth it. We had an amazing time and I cant wait to go back. Enjoy the photos!
