stone house at sterling ridge wedding
Halle and John didn’t let the December cold stop them from getting outside for golden hour portraits—and honestly, it paid off. There’s something about winter light that just works, and with a live saxophonist playing during their first dance, this day had all the elements of a wedding that felt both romantic and genuinely fun.
Getting ready happened at Stone House at Sterling Ridge, and the couple was ready to move. Halle looked stunning, and John was clearly eager to see her walk down the aisle. The ceremony was intimate and warm despite the winter chill outside. We made the call to head out for portraits during golden hour, and even though it was cold, Halle and John were all in. Those shots turned out beautifully—there’s something about the soft winter light that makes everything feel romantic without trying too hard.
The reception is where things really came alive. A saxophonist took the stage during their first dance, which set a completely different energy than your typical song choice. It was smooth, it was memorable, and it gave us some genuinely great candid moments. The room felt warm and celebratory—the kind of wedding where people are actually present and enjoying themselves rather than just going through the motions.
A Creative Touch designed florals in whites and greens, keeping things refined and seasonal without going full winter-formal. The color palette of whites, greens, and blacks felt sophisticated against the stone architecture of the venue. Palmero Bakery handled the cake, and Plat Dash kept the music and energy moving all night. Everything tied together cleanly—nothing felt overdone, but it was clear someone thought through every detail.
If you’re planning a winter wedding in Warren or anywhere in North Jersey and want photos that honor both the romance and the realness of your day, I’d love to work with you. Let’s chat.
