Lauren and Brandon’s Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Wedding.

Lauren and Brandon’s Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Wedding.

Woodcliff Hotel and Spa Wedding. Fairport, NY.

The whole week leading up to Lauren and Brandon’s Woodcliff Hotel and Spa wedding, I was hoping for sunny clear skies, because I knew that the photos would be absolutely gorgeous at the overlook behind the hotel. The day started out without a cloud in the sky and I started to get nervous when I could see a line of clouds rolling in. But luckily they weren’t thick clouds and they gave us an incredible soft sunny light that was what every photographer dreams of. But we had some formalities to take care of first before we could accomplish some incredible portraits. Both Lauren and Brandon started their day at the hotel getting ready in separate rooms with their wedding party. After they got all done up, Lauren and Brandon joined me out at the overlook, for their first look. I got a chance to play with some different lighting situations for their portraits and got one of the best photos I’ve taken all year.

After the portraits were done, it was time for the ceremony and the setting sun provided such amazing light for their nuptials. The rings were exchanged, the said their I Do’s, and Lauren and Brandon were officially a married couple. After the ceremony ended, and the guests were patiently waiting inside at the cocktail hour, Lauren and Brandon let me take a few more portraits in what was the perfect lighting and I am in love with how those photos came out. But alas, it was time to get them to the party so they could celebrate with all their family and friends. The first dances were emotional, the speeches were hilarious, and everyone ate and drank and were marry. It truly was a great day. Congratulations Lauren and Brandon and enjoy the photos and video!

What drew you to the venue and what was your favorite detail?

The outdoor ceremony location with the view and the fact that everything was included so it made planning so easy. The view was by far our favorite part/ detail.

What was your favorite moment from your wedding?

Honestly, the ceremony. For Brandon, he says it was seeing me walk down the aisle. For me (Lauren) it was seeing him get emotional as I came down the aisle.

What was the most special thing you experienced at your wedding?

For me (Lauren) it was having someone, who I honestly didn’t know all that well from Brandon’s side, come up and tell us, “You can really tell you guys are going to make it. You can see the love between you two.” For Brandon, it was the best man speech.

What was the best piece of advice you got before your wedding?

Never stop working on the marriage and to keep dating; and basically everything else Pastor Lee said in premarital.

How would you describe your wedding day?

Magical. Perfect. A dream. Honestly, the weather and view made the ceremony magical. The reception was a blast, filled with so much dancing and laughs.

What guest had the most fun at your wedding?

The best man, Stephen.

What was the biggest reason you chose Tom Harmon Photography to capture your big day?

Because he is the G.O.A.T. In all seriousness though, we’d seen his work and it was just leaps and bounds better than anything we’d ever seen before. The lighting, the poses, the drone; everything was next level.
