Pleasantdale Chateau Wedding. West Orange, NJ.

The day dawned with an air of anticipation at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, NJ. A weather forecast predicting rain did little to dampen the spirits of Jill and Dima, our couple of the day. As if on cue, the skies cleared and the grand old mansion, brimming with character and charm, bathed in glorious sunshine, setting the stage for an unforgettable wedding.

The outdoor ceremony was an embodiment of the couple’s love, blooming under the radiant sun. The chateau, an architectural marvel, provided an array of stunning backdrops for the wedding photos, its nooks and crannies echoing stories of love from times long gone.

As the ceremony concluded, guests drifted towards the cocktail hour, held both in the mansion’s regal rooms and on its expansive patio. Each room, a world of its own, was filled with joyous laughter and warm conversation, as attendees reveled in the charm of the venue and the jubilance of the day.

As the sun dipped, casting long shadows and painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, everyone moved into the round-shaped ballroom for the reception. The evening was filled with laughter, toasts, and tears of joy. The dance floor was a whirl of color and movement, with everyone joining in the fun, their spirits as high as the vaulted ceilings above.

A highlight of the reception was the unique gift bestowed upon the bridal party – a box of spring-loaded  butterflies. This whimsical touch added an element of surprise and delight, much like the unexpected sunshine that had graced the day, making Jill and Dima’s wedding a truly memorable event.

As their special day drew to a close, one couldn’t help but marvel at the magic of it all – a stunning venue, an unexpected burst of sunshine, a day filled with love and joy, and a couple starting their forever in the most beautiful way. Here’s to Jill and Dima, and their enchanting wedding at the Pleasantdale Chateau.

What drew you to the venue and what was your favorite detail?

The grounds were so beautiful, even when we toured in winter– fairy tale vibes all around. They also have a reputation for having some of the best food in the tri state area, which the absolutely delivered on!

What was your favorite moment from your wedding?

Our attendant pulled us away from the crowd for fifteen minutes so we could get some time alone after the ceremony (and so they could feed us!)–everything was perfect, but those first few minutes alone together with incredible food was easily a highlight
What was the most special thing you experienced at your wedding?
Having all of our friends and family all get up together on the dance floor after our first dance– there’s something amazing about seeing little kids and elderly family members dancing together and having a blast!
What was the best piece of advice you got before your wedding?
Try to be present and “in the moment” as much as possible. And make sure you eat!!!
How would you describe your wedding day?
Perfectly seamless and utterly magical. A year and a half of planning culminating into a wonderful day with all of our friends and family there to celebrate with us.
What guest had the most fun at your wedding?
Dmitriy’s little brother Sasha, probably! He absolutely tore up the dance floor, to everyone’s delight.
What was the biggest reason you chose Tom Harmon Photography to capture your big day?
Tom’s photography style really resonated with both of us, and he helped make a stressful day so much more comfortable and easy (thanks Tom! And Ryan and John 🙂 )
