Skylands Manor Wedding. Ringwood, NJ.
Bathed in history and surrounded by natural beauty, Skyland’s Manor in New Jersey is always a delight for any wedding photographer. However, the magic that unfolded during Grace and Eric’s special day was beyond compare.
Grace and Eric vowed to have their ceremony outside, come rain or shine. Their determination was put to the test when a soft drizzle began to fall just as the ceremony commenced on the beautifully manicured grounds. But nothing could dampen the joy of their union. Guests donned ponchos, their faces beaming as the couple exchanged vows amidst the gentle rain, adding a whimsical touch to an already extraordinary day.
Every detail of the wedding spoke volumes about Grace and Eric’s unique personalities. Their love story was woven into every element, making the day truly theirs.
The reception was a roller-coaster of emotions. Eric’s dance with his mother was profoundly touching, a moment suspended in time as the room watched on with heartfelt admiration. Speeches that followed were equally emotional, filled with stories that had everyone reaching for their tissues.
The couple’s first dance was a scene straight out of a fairytale. Grace and Eric, enveloped in a delicate mist, seemed to be dancing on a cloud, their love illuminating the room.
But Grace and Eric’s reception wasn’t all about sentimentality. Things took a wild turn with the introduction of a robot and a CO2 gun! The ballroom buzzed with excitement as the robot danced about, and guests reveled in the unique spectacle, their laughter echoing through the manor’s grand halls.
Grace and Eric’s wedding at Skyland’s Manor was indeed a beautiful medley of love, rain, and unexpected merriment. A celebration that echoed their vibrant spirits, their joyous union is one that will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of it.

What drew you to the venue and what was your favorite detail?
The greenery surrounding the castle was breath taking. The ceremony location was stunning, and although we had to change from the koi pond to the sun dial location we were more than happy with how things went
What was your favorite moment from your wedding?
When we were walking to the ceremony we were worried about the rain, perhaps a little drizzle. But, gripping onto my dress, I looked up and saw my bridal party and groomsmen look to me over their shoulder: “the sun is out!”
What was the most special thing you experienced at your wedding?
The way things truly fell into place. I’d say without the help of my day of coordinator, photographer, & videographer, I’d be oh so lost
What was the best piece of advice you got before your wedding?
Get a photographer that know what they are doing (not trying to kiss up to you tom, lol). I was told without an organized/headstrong photographer, my day could get very VERY stressful. ALSO not to be on my phone. We truly lived in the day.
How would you describe your wedding day?
Lots of fun! It was true ride; sorta like a day trip! You plan & plan for months, just to breathe it in. And if you’re lucky like us, everything will fall PERFECTLY in place.
What guest had the most fun at your wedding?
With the amount of people that have reached out to us even till this day..I think a good chunk!
What was the biggest reason you chose Tom Harmon Photography to capture your big day?
Tom spoke with eloquence, patience, and calmness. Sure, we REALLY appreciated his shots and how he put this artistic flair to it instead of just straight up portraits, but the way he spoke to us was so confirming of his craft: one of a kind
