A Wintergarden Wedding – Mallory and Anthony.

A Wintergarden Wedding – Mallory and Anthony.

Wintergarden Wedding. Rochester, NY.

The Wintergarden is such a cool spot in the heart of the city of Rochester. Surrounded by tall office buildings, the inside of the Wintergarden is like a large greenhouse, full of glass, trees, and plants. It was such a nice location. Mallory and Anthony arrived in the afternoon to get their finishing touches on, then it was time for their first look. After their first look, and because it was raining outside, we went around the inside of the venue to capture some truly unique portraits. Family and bridal portraits were next, before it was time for the touching ceremony. There even was a step stool so that Mallory could plant a solid kiss on Anthony. After the ceremony, the rain had subsided so it gave us a chance to walk to a park and grab some more portraits. After cocktail hour was over, it was time to introduce the bride and groom, conduct a few speeches, and then party time. Everyone had a great time celebrating Mallory and Anthony and it was an amazing night. Congratulations Mallory and Anthony and enjoy the photos!

What drew you to the venue and what was your favorite detail?

The Wintergarden is a unique atrium venue with indoor plants, much like a giant greenhouse, and the twinkling lights in the trees are magical. We wanted an elegant fantasy wedding that would be reminiscent of the atrium in Katsucon, a convention in DC we both love attending every year. With plenty of natural light and no worry about the unpredictable upstate NY weather, the Wintergarden was the perfect venue for our fairytale dreams.

What was your favorite moment from your wedding?

Mallory’s favorite moment was when she heard Anthony’s vows for the first time, and the jokes he included made the guests laugh. Anthony’s favorite moment was the First Look and getting to see Mallory when she snuck up on him.

What was the most special thing you experienced at your wedding?

The most special thing Mallory experienced was when her dad gave an emotional speech, surprising her with the mushroom notebook and his special pen. Anthony’s special experience was getting to see all of our friends from around the world in one place, together, to celebrate our love.

What was the best piece of advice you got before your wedding?

The best piece of advice we got before the wedding was to live in the moment, because it flies by so quickly. It’s true, it felt like we blinked and the night was ending. We wish we could live through the day a few more times to really take it in.

How would you describe your wedding day?
Magical, gorgeous, perfect! It was a dream come true and we felt surrounded by love.

What guest had the most fun at your wedding?

Eric & Alisa tearing up the dance floor.

What was the biggest reason you chose Tom Harmon Photography to capture your big day?

We booked Tom and his team because they didn’t just snap photos of the event, they executed a vision with gorgeous shots that considered their subjects and the environment together. Tom’s work was artistic and striking, with warm glowing light and an eye for romance.
